Posted on October 10, 2019 at 11:30 AM |
Client charges in Newport News included DWI - 1st offense, 2 x Civil Violation - refused blood/breath test, obstruction/resisted w/o force, driving without license, failure to obey highway sign, failure to obey highwal lane marking, and registration violoation - non-resident. A plea was negotiated with the prosecutor and the client pled guilty on the DWI and driving without a license. The other six charges were not prosecuted (Nolle Prosequi). No jail time and only one year of unsupervised probation. WOW, what a great deal!!!
For additional information, see VA Codes for DWI § 18.2-266, penalties § 18.2-270, and driving without a license § 46.2-300.
